SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO ASK
1. Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, we are always accepting new patients!
Please note that while we are booked about a month in advance for our routine cleanings, we will do everything possible to get you an appointment on the same or next day of your call, if you are having a dental emergency.
2. What insurances do you accept?
We accept all insurance, except for those requiring you to go to Kaiser or Willamette Dental.
We are preferred providers for Aetna, MetLife, Principal, Ameritas, Standard, United Concordia and Dentemax, participating providers with Guardian and Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield, and premier providers with ODS (Delta Dental).
3. How do I go about scheduling an appointment?
Call us at 503-889-8632 (especially if you have an urgent need)
Email us: contact@rafiadental.com
Or fill out the new client form
4. Do you do implants?
Yes we do! We are the only full-service dental office in the area capable of using our own in-house CT scan to create a 3D model of the jaw, place the implant (Zimmer) and fabricate the crown or denture that goes over the implant.
All consultations, including implant consults, are 100% free of charge or obligation.
5. What are my options if I have anxiety with dental visits?
Depending on your comfort level, we can offer you everything from nitrous oxide sedation (laughing gas), to a sedative pill (similar to valium). The most popular option is “sleep dentistry”, especially with the growing demand in one-visit dentistry (where everything from cleaning to fillings and root canals are done in one sitting).
We have partnered with a team of board certified anesthesiologists and can offer you “sleep dentistry”, an ultra-safe option which allows you to come in for your visit, go to sleep, have all of your work done, and never have an ounce of pain–or remember a single injection or the unpleasant sounds which may cause your anxiety. Our office is equipped with the most advanced monitoring systems, much like an outpatient clinic, and the anesthesiologists in charge of your care are superbly trained and focus on your comfort, so that we can do what we do best: dentistry.
6. Will you accept dental x-rays from my prior dentist?
Yes! Preferably via email, to contact@rafiadental.com, or US mail.
7. What are your fees for typical dental procedures like a filling or crown?
We never perform a procedure without giving you an accurate fee estimate. But since fees are often dictated by your insurance coverage and vary greatly depending on the size, location, and choice of material, we estimate the cost after a personal visit and an exam—and not over the phone. As such, it is always best to come into the office for a consultation first so we can provide you with an accurate quote for any dental treatment.
8. I’m in pain. Who should I call? What should I do?
First and foremost, contact us via phone or email. We will make every attempt to get you in immediately.
If we’ve seen you before, call the office to get the after-hours on-call service number to get in touch with Dr. Rafia.
9. Do you see children?
We see children of all ages. But while most children do just fine at the dental office, occasionally, a child may need to be seen by a pediatric dentist, and we can make arrangements very easily.
10. Any famous celebrities come to your office?
Yes. We have over 4000 registered clients and every single one of them is a celebrity in our eyes.
